2020 - Pinot Noir Reserve - Santa Cruz Mountains

It is said that top-quality Pinot Noir only grows in special pockets on the earth where the soil & climate coax magic from this delicate grape. The Santa Cruz Mountains contain such places, and this hillside vineyard garners top awards each year for its accomplishments.

 

We chose to exclusively use the Mount Eden clone of Pinot Noir for its richness & dark-fruit character, but balanced it with the playfulness of partial whole-cluster fermentation. We then aged the wine in new, tight-grained French oak barrels to add spice & depth for a meditative experience.
