2020 Cienega Valley Shiraz

With it's 5,000-year legacy of winemaking, the Persian city of Shiraz produced some of the most celebrated wines of the ancient world. Though styles & tastes have changed over the centuries, this wine's endurance is evident, and we are proud to uphold the tradition. We are delighted to share this first vintage with a production of just 2 barrels. Sourced exclusively from the cool Cienega Valley, this wine has developed rich tobacco & violet aromas, along with a dense, satiny texture. 

WINEMAKER'S TASTING NOTES:

The 2020 Shiraz from the Cienega Valley offers a rich and complex profile, beginning with enticing aromas of dark chocolate, ripe blueberry, and a hint of tobacco. The wine’s depth is further enhanced by a subtle oak influence that provides structure and balance, while layers of boysenberry add a touch of brightness to the dark fruit character. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and smooth, with a beautiful interplay of dark chocolate, blueberry, and boysenberry flavors that create a harmonious, velvety texture. The tobacco and oak notes lend complexity and a warm, lingering finish, making this Shiraz an elegant and bold expression of the Cienega Valley.
