2020 Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay

This elegant Chardonnay from the picturesque Santa Cruz Mountains offers a beautiful balance of rich fruit and crisp acidity. With vibrant notes of green apple, citrus zest, and a hint of tropical pineapple, it’s complemented by subtle undertones of vanilla and toasted oak from gentle barrel aging. 

This wine was aged sur lie with battonage in mostly used French oak. We fine and only minimally filter our Chardonnay to preserve the flavors from each of these processes, and recommend serving slightly below room temperature as storing in a refrigerator may be too cold for this expressve wine. 

WINEMAKER'S TASTING NOTES:

The 2020 Chardonnay from the Santa Cruz Mountains opens with inviting aromas of fresh pineapple, Gala apple, and a hint of ripe pear. On the palate, the wine is rich yet balanced, with layers of creamy butter and zesty lemon, adding a delightful complexity to the smooth, round mouthfeel.
